Abstract

From the analysis of short stories, the urban theme is compared in three Venezuelan authors: Antonieta Madrid, with Al filo de la vida (2000). In it, the city is manifested from moral values and the multicultural; Luis Brito García, with Rajatabla (1970). The violence, the misery and the marginality make a denunciation of the great metropolis that the author presents; lastly, Armando José Sequera. With The Four Ends of the Rope (1980). This text makes the city the perfect setting for the actions of urban man.
