Abstract

This experimental type study, the purpose of which is comparing the whitening effectivity of vital teeths o fan agent used at the clinic and ambulatory type agent. In this study subjects going to the dental operatory clinic of the University of Los Andes, Mérida – Venezuela, with ages comprised between 16 and 26 years of age. Of a total of 40 patients that wanted a dental whitening, only 30 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Later on 22 patients were selected in order to become part of the study. The simple was divided in two groups, a first group to whom the photoactive whitening agent was applied and a second group to which the ambulatory whitening agent was applied. With the data obtained a statistical analysis was carried out obtaining as a result that there is no relation between the whitening effectivity generated by a photoactive agent and the ambulatory agent. In the same way the results showed the presence of immediate dental sensibility with both whitening techniques and gingival irritation with one of the techniques applied. The conclusion is that both techniques fulfill expire with the standards of whitening dental and that this effects are going to depend on factors partners with the patient.
