Objective: To test null hypothesis: There are no differences between a prolonged exposure of acid Ph beverage and the amount of adhesive remnants from bonded braces. Methods and materials: The study Sampled consisted of 16 human teeth with bonded metallic braces. Experimental group was exposed to an acid beverage (Coca-Cola) for 48 hours. After that, braces were manually debonded. Adhesive remnants were judge trough Adhesive Remnant Index. Data were analyzed whit a Spearman coefficient. Results: there was a correlation of 0.87 between groups. Conclusion: There is a correlation between a prolonged exposure of acid beverage media and the adhesive remnants after orthodontic debonding.
