The present investigation aimed to analyze the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries that have affected teacher’s dentists, Faculty of Dentistry of the Universidad José Antonio Páez, over its performance. It is descriptive and developed under a design field such as population taking the 51 dental teachers in this school. The most relevant conclusions to be reached through the analysis of the results obtained are: musculoskeletal injuries have significantly affected dentists case study teachers, overriding the following injuries: tendinitis (27.5%), pericapsulitis of shoulder (27.5%), carpal tunnel syndrome (27.5%), Raynaud's syndrome (19.6%) and tension neck syndrome (60.8%). Regarding the causes of these injuries by exposure of dentists to physical risk factors, work organization and environment of it, are considered the most significant include: awkward postures or incorrect, repetitive movements, the same position for a break and the poor design of the workplace. regarding the use of ergonomics by these dentists have the same considerable use of ergonomic techniques applied to dentistry, and perform different tasks, position the dentist, patient and assistant, and prepositions selected instruments of work and limit the time of exposure to vibration. However, by not applying these techniques with a high frequency, can cause these injuries.
