ORAL MANIFESTATIONS ABOUT DEGREES OF MALNUTRITION OF THE PEDIATRIC POPULATION COMMUNITY RIVER MOUTH, LIBERTADOR MUNICIPALITY, CARABOBO

This study aimed to determine the most frequent oral manifestations in pediatric patients with malnutrition, community Boca Rio, Carabobo state. This research is classified as a descriptive correlational design with a transverse field. The population consisted of 200 children, aged 2 to 8 years, which was sampled 60 children, who were studied through direct observation and dental tab. The results were more significant in patients with 53% male and aged between 2-4 years of age, with 40%. The mean change of anthropometric characteristics in males older than 8 years of age was (-5.78). There was a higher prevalence of malnutrition grade 1 (72%). There was no grade 3 malnutrition. The oral manifestations were the most common materia alba (30%), caries (25%), gingivitis (24%), crowding (11%) and numeracy (10%). Materia alba with a prevalence of 71.6% in grade 1 malnutrition, followed by 28.3% in grade 2 malnutrition. Caries with a prevalence of 65% in grade 1 malnutrition, followed by 20% in grade 2 malnutrition. Gingivitis with a prevalence of 60% in grade 1 malnutrition, followed by 15% in grade 2 malnutrition. Crowding with a prevalence of 21.6% in grade 1 malnutrition, followed by 15% in grade 2 malnutrition. Calculus, with a prevalence of 23.3% in grade 1 malnutrition, followed by 10% in grade 2 malnutrition.
