PREVALENCE OF ORAL MANIFESTATIONS IN AUTISTIC CHILDREN "FRIEND OF FOUNDATION CARABOBO AUTISTIC CHILD." VALENCIA CITY - CARABOBO 2011-2012

This research aims to establish the prevalence of oral manifestations in autistic children "Foundation Carabobo Autistic Child Friendly" Municipality Valencia - Carabobo State. The study is based on a non-experimental research, descriptive type field mode, based on a literature review. For the development of the research was used as data collection instrument medical records through closed surveys, taking as autistic population to 70 members of the foundation of which was extracted a sample of 30 children throwing Regarding the result sex 71.4% belongs to children, while 28.56% girls; 68.57% of patients under dental care and 31.42% no, in carbohydrate-rich diet does not lead 74.28% out a diet based on carbohydrates and 25.71% if; digital suction 91.42% is observed not in the habit while 8.57% if; 97.14% pacifier habit of not using a pacifier, while 2.85% if, in relation to the condition of the parents of some alteration mouth must be the 88.57% 11.42% padeceny no other; bite things with your teeth is evident that the 32.42% and not 68.57% if you do. In conclusion the features evident in these patients are poor dental care, minor incidence of carious lesions, finger sucking habit, high plaque index, symptoms of hyperactivity, self-destruction or self-harm, so it is recommended that preventive dental care, motivate special education institutes, further study of the variables that contribute effective ideas for solving the problem.
