The vision of an integral, libertarian and innovative education has not been a proposal with contemporary references at all, as it is appreciated to the fullness and prominence in the work of Simon Rodriguez, his desire to face the impositions of schemes of domination by suggesting the need to encourage the development of new and creative ideas from the educational work that could contribute with the process of social transformation. In this regard, the current and relevant thought of Simon Rodriguez fits and easily gets references in the latest trends of critical reading, in whose claims pursue the need to form an analytical and thoughtful citizen who faces with consistency, responsibility and autonomy social demands through democratic participation that allow him/her to implement values such as tolerance, respect and solidarity as cyclical aspects of social life and whose correspondence it is clearly reflected in the sociocultural trend of reading in general as a common variable to the work of Simon Rodriguez and the new demands of critical reading
