During the 13th Central American and Caribbean Congress on Occupational Health, an important meeting was held among the coordinators of postgraduate programs in Occupational Health and Occupational Hygiene. The primary objective of this gathering was to assess the various academic programs, identifying their strengths and weaknesses in order to enhance the training of professionals in this vital field. Each coordinator had the opportunity to present their respective program, highlighting its unique characteristics and the specific challenges faced in their regions. It became evident that, although there are differences in the specific issues faced across regions, there are also shared concerns that can be addressed through collaboration and academic exchange. One of the most significant conclusions was the importance of promoting academic exchange between institutions, as well as mutual support through the implementation of mentoring systems. It was acknowledged that the diversity of experiences and knowledge can greatly enrich student training and strengthen postgraduate programs. In addition, the commitment of the University of Carabobo, through its journal “Salud de los Trabajadores”, and the University of Guayana, through its journal “Copérnico, was highlighted. Both institutions pledged to support the publication of rigorous scientific research in the field of occupational health. This commitment represents a major step forward in the dissemination of knowledge and the advancement of the discipline in the region.
