Design and construction of an exoeskeleton to improve human’s capabilities

The present degree work focuses on the creation of a functional exoskeleton prototype that relieves the human being when lifting or carrying an external load, allowing a smooth and injury-free activity, as well as demonstrating that the human body can be mechanically enhanced by external means. The present work required a substantial analysis of the biomechanics of the human body, in order to obtain a design that would meet the established objectives. Taking into account the different existing technologies for the mobilization of a related system, the design was based on the use of linear actuators, allowing a high mechanical gain while guaranteeing full safety to the operator thanks to its possibility of blocking when de-energized. A special, documentary and field research is presented, since it included activities that are representative of each category, and it was given a quantitative approach because the results obtained were measured under the design parameters in comparison to what was obtained in reality.
