Application of virtual and augmented reality for the consolidation of learning.

The objective of this article is to determine the effects of virtual and augmented reality on the learning of a group of students from the Unidad Educativa Costa Azul in Manta, Ecuador. The methodology employed was framed within the quantitative paradigm; therefore, it was a field study in which a survey was used as a data collection instrument in two sections of classes at the same level, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. The results were variable; it was found that one group carried out academic activities with greater interest and motivation, while the group of students who did not engage in activities with virtual and augmented reality did not show significant changes in the completion of the activities. It is concluded that there are elements of personal motivation linked to the development of activities in the two groups sampled in the present research, so the effect of virtual and augmented reality is an addition for educational planning at the basic levels to be effective.
