This article aims to set the theoretical and legal resources for the design and organization of the Center for Research in Management and Information Technology (CIGTI) of the Master in Management and Information Technology which is attached to the Academic Vice President and Directorate General of Post Graduate of the University of Valencia José Antonio Páez (Venezuela). At work is highlighted in theory that the creation and organization of the Center for Research in Management and Information Technology, responds to the need for or have an dependency that is able to carry out scientific and technological research in the field of management and information technology, as well as developing projects for goods and services (applied research or technology) that necessarily arise from the specific research in the area, and provide explicit and concrete support, in terms of teaching and assistance to each one of the programs and graduate to take action with regard to management and information technology and documentation
