Interceptive Orthodontics as a Treatment of Dentoalveolar Anterior Crossbite: Clinical Case

Interceptive orthodontics contributes to the development of a permanent dentition that is harmonious, functional and aesthetic. In which the integral dentist must identify malocclusion early and interfere in its development through appliances, to avoid the unfavorable evolution of malformations, and even more so, in the case of anterior dentoalveolar crossbite since in the long term they can occur complications, both craniofacial and dental, affecting the physiology and functionality of the patient. The purpose of this investigation was to analyze the effectiveness of interceptive orthodontics as a treatment for dentoalveolar anterior crossbite treated with Bimler Type C in a patient with mixed dentition. This study is attached to the comprehensive dental care research unit which develops the line: clinical and corrective dentistry. The case refers to the application of interceptive orthodontics using the Bimler type C, as a treatment for Dentoalveolar Anterior Crossbite. The early approach of the case led to a successful treatment avoiding dental surgical interventions, the treatment not only improved the aesthetic and functional part of the patient, but also the psychological part of it.
