Abstract

Social learning as the basis of teaching delivered through technological means is no longer limited to the configuration of LMS (Learning Management System) platforms and adapting them to institutional needs, rather, it requires the management of technological resources that enable the exchange and validation of content. The study of resources and processes associated with this dynamic constitutes one of the concerns to be satisfied in this work, framed as a field investigation, of an explanatory nature, whose population is made up of students from the IX semester of Computer Education and the X semester of Engineering. from the José Antonio Páez University. The main objective is to explain alternatives for the application of social networks in education for support and evaluation, from which the specific objectives are derived: 1. Identify the use achieved by social networks in training interaction activities, 2. Analyze the alternatives offered for interaction in digital media, 3. Test the influence of social networks in the educational processes of support and evaluation. As results, the confrontation of experiences with social networks of different types is achieved, such as content networks, metaverse networks, and publication networks; verifying the promotion and scope of active participation, the debate of content, the construction of knowledge, and validating the incursion of the so-called Elearning 2.0 and other web tools as alternatives to energize educational practice, and to bring together digital generations. The conclusions specify explanations about teaching strategies for taking advantage of technology and its importance in monitoring student progress.
