Teaching - Learning Social Skills and Interactions in Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder

In the context of formal education in Venezuela, teaching social skills and interactions to adolescents with autism is essential for their comprehensive development. This process allows them to understand social norms and fully participate in social life. The purpose of this research is to interpret and understand the experiences and perceptions of autistic adolescents, educators, and families regarding the teaching and learning of social skills and interactions in the educational context. The research is qualitative, phenomenological, and framed within the ethnographic method. Instruments were used to uncover key informants' constructs and data collection techniques such as observation, drawings, and semi-structured interviews. The results were interpreted through hermeneutic analysis, highlighting the importance of addressing the needs of adolescents with autism and their families, as well as promoting research to disseminate information about autism in the classroom.
