Abstract

The rise of social networks is showing us that, even if we are not seeing other people, we want to feel their presence. This should be considered today when developing virtual or in-person educational experiences, incorporating strategies that provide a feeling of support and avoid discouragement (Lehman, 2010). This research had the purpose of identifying successful teaching strategies in a blended experience in continuous training, in order to stimulate teachers in virtual environments to develop and apply teaching strategies that help them achieve learning by breaking the paradigm of traditional teaching without that the participant feels a sense of isolation. For this purpose, a phenomenological study was carried out through participant and interpretive observation of eight continuing training courses in Marketing during the period 2009 - 2010 at the UJAP Extension Center, analyzing the opinion and performance of the participants, facilitators and the coordinator. on the development and results regarding the achievement of the desired learning. Among the successful strategies found are: the random designation of permanent work teams throughout the course, integration of topics around central activity contextualized to reality, virtual and in-person discussion forums that allow both collaborative work and performance monitoring. individual, and team exhibition with a random exhibitor. It is concluded that to prevent either the participants or the facilitator themselves from feeling isolation and consequent discouragement in virtual environments and to achieve better learning, it is not enough to select attractive activities that capture initial attention.
